A video that went viral a few days ago, shows a woman lying flat on her stomach while some men take turns to whip her butt with a stick as others hold her firmly to the ground.
The incident occurred on December 23, 2016, in Nyasurura area in Serengeti, Tanzania and 10 people are said to have been arrested so far in connection with the brutality.
The 35 year old woman was accused of insulting her mother and threatening to kill her by using witchcraft so the council of elders ordered that she should be whipped.
Some of the people arrested are the chairman of the council of elders of the Msimbiti clan of Kinesi village, together with four of his delegates plus four men who forcefully held the woman down during the beating.
