Yesterday, hundreds of people paid their last respect to the late Dr. Didas Massaburi at the karimjee grounds.
In attendance was President John Pombe Magufuli, retired president Jakaya Kikwete among others.
In his speech, Magufuli revealed that the deceased had around 5 wives and over 20 kids although only one wife had been named.
He added that in African culture, having many wives was normal and nothing to be ashamed of.
He urged the children to stick together during this difficult time to avoid conflicts that could tear the family apart.
The late mayor was later buried in Chanika as per his will.
